2009 thru Missouri I-270/I-40/I-70 St Louis area westbound to Kansas. 5:00 PM start from St. Louis, MO.
August 31, Kansas I-70 thru Kansas to Colorado nonstop. (10+) hours drive from St. Louis to KS/CO border.
2009 Colorado 8/27
I-70 to Exit 203 at Hwy 9 to Frisco, CO. Butterhorn Bakery for Breakfast at 7:00 AM
Photo Trip Hwy 9 thru Breckenridge to Fairplay, CO. This route south over Hoosier Pass to Hwy 285
(4 days) Hwy 285 South to Antero Junction & Hwy 24/285. This route over Ten Mile Range to Hwy 285 South
  Hwy 285 South to Poncha Springs & Hwy 50 Hwy 50 westbound over Monarch Pass to Gunnison.
Colorado Hwy 50 through Currecanti N.R.A to Montrose. Hwy 50 to Hwy 550 south to Ouray, CO.
Photo Hwy 550 to Amphitheatre Campground - (4 nites). Arrived at 2 P.M. non-stop from St. Louis (21 hrs);
Trip Set up camp and drove back to Ouray. O'brien's Irish Pub" for dinner - turned in early.
8/28  
Breakfast next day in Ouray at "Backstreet Bagels". Hwy 550 to Silverton & Alpine Loop Byway CR 2.
Stopped to look at Eureka, CO mine ruins on CR 2. Continued on Alpine Loop to Animas Forks on CR 9.
To Cinnamon Pass on CR5/30 to American Basin. Into American Basin on CR12 to Handies Trailhead.
Hiked briefly into American Basin along the creek. Hiked out on Handies Peak Trail & on to Lake City.
Lunch at "Southern Vittals" in Lake City. CR 20 from Lake City to Nellies Creek Rd. CR 23.
Drove CR 23 up to Uncompaghre Peak trailhead. Back to CR 20 & Palmetto Gulch to Engineer Pass.
Over Engineer Pass & loop back to CR 2. CR 2 back to Animas Forks & into California Gulch.
CR 2 & back out to Silverton. (CR17/18 are bad). Silverton to Ouray on Hwy 550 - good day but tired.
To "The Outlaw" for dinner in Ouray. Back to Amphitheatre Campground for evening.
8/29
Breakfast at "Backstreet Bagels". On to Yankee Boy Basin on CR 361.
Stopped at what is left of the Camp Bird Complex. Continuing into Yankee Boy Basin on CR 26.
Took 4WD route to Twin Falls. Back to CR 26 &  to Governor Basin on CR 8531C.
CR 8531C is 4WD w/ rock slabs until above trees. Explored mine buildings in Governor Basin.
Back to Yankee Boy Basin and on to Imogene Pass Took CR 26A 4WD road from near Sneffels.
CR 26A becomes FR 869 at Upper Camp Bird. Took FR 869 to just below Imogene Pass.
4WD low missing & could not climb to Pass. Back to Ouray via FR 869, CR 26A & CR 361.
Took a break at "O'Brien's" to recover from driving. Explored shops & galleries in Ouray couple of hours.
To Ridgeway Hwy 62 & E. Dallas Creek. Rd. CR 7. This route to Blue Lakes Pass Trail & back to Ouray.
Dinner at Mexican "Buen Tiempo" in Ouray Back to Amphitheatre Campground for evening.
8/30  
Breakfast at "Backstreet Bagels" again. Hwy 550 to CR 10/8 to Owl Creek Pass.
CR 8 to CR 860A just east of Courthouse Tower. Drove south to near the closure point of CR 860A.
Back to CR 860 & on to near Silver Jack Reservoir. Returned westbound from Silver Jack Reservoir
Drove FR 863 East Fork Cimarron River south. This route to Uncompaghre Wilderness Trailhead.
Returned to CR 860 & CR 8/10 to Ridgeway. Took break at "Cimarron Books & Cafe" Ridgeway.
Hwy 62 to Hwy 145 to Telluride. Spent couple of hours in shops & galleries Telluride.
Returned to Ouray from Telluride. Dinner at O'Brien's Irish Pub".
8/31  
Broke Camp & loaded for return trip to St. Louis. Breakfast at Backstreet Bagels - Left Ouray at 10:30 AM
Colorado Hwy 550 to Hwy 50 to Hwy 141 to I-70 eastbound. This route straight north to Grand Junction.
Kansas 9/1  
Missouri I-70 all the way to St. Louis, MO Arrive back at 5:30 AM  (19 hours)

2008 thru Oklahoma I-270/ I-44 St Louis area westbound to Oklahoma. Early AM start from St. Louis, MO.
January 5, Texas I-44 &I-40 thru Oklahoma to Vega, Texas nonstop. (13+) hours driving -  Motel (1) night. 
2009 12/27
New Mexico I-40 to Old Route 66 at Glen Rio, NM. Up early & explored Glen Rio, NM abandoned sites.
Photo Trip I-40 to Hwy 93 and south to Endee, NM This route to Old Route 66 and explored area.
(1 week) I-40 to Hwy 469 and San Jon, NM &Old Route 66. This route south to site of abandoned outdoor theatre. 
I-40 to Exit 335 and Tucumcari, NM Stopped for late breakfast & to revisit Tucumcari.
New Mexico/ I-40 to Hwy 54 and Santa Rosa, NM Explored Santa Rosa briefly.
Arizona, Utah Hwy 54 to Hwy 60 to Mountainair, NM Stopped at Salinas Pueblo N. Mon. Visitors Center.

Trip SR1 to Hwy 380 to I-25 south to Las Cruces NM Motel (2) nights.

Hwy 70 to White Sands National Monument. To visitors center and Loop Drive into the dunes.
Loop Drive to Hwy 70 to 54 to Alamogordo, NM. Picked up a few items in Alamogordo.
Hwy 54 to Hwy 82 up canyon to Cloudcroft, NM This route to Cloudcroft & The Lodge at Cloudcroft.
Hwy 82 down canyon & back to Alamogordo. Hiked to the Mexican Trestle at edge of Cloudcroft.
Hwy 82 to Hwy 54 to Hwy 70 to White Sands. Eventually made it back into Park for sunset on dunes.
Hwy 70 and back to Las Cruces for the night. One hour plus drive back to Las Cruces and motel.

Apache Pass Road over Apache Pass to Hwy 186. This route to Chiricahua N. Mon. visitors center.
Up canyon on Bonita Canyon Drive to Massai Point. This route to Massai Point Overlook.
Down canyon on Bonita Canyon Drive to Hwy 186. This route to Wilcox, AZ and I-10 west to Tucson, AZ.
I-10 to West Speedway Blvd. to Gates Pass Rd. This route to Saguaro N. P. visitors center.
N. Kenny Road to Baja Loop to Hugh Norris Trail. Hiked up trail for shots of saguaro cactus at sunset.

West Speedway Blvd to I-10 north & I-17 north Up early this route thru Phoenix and to Flagstaff, AZ.
I-17 to Old Route 66 to downtown Flagstaff. Stopped for lunch in Flagstaff and explored downtown.
Old Route 66 to Hwy 89 to Hwy 89A. This route to Cliff Dwellers Lodge (3 nights)
Arizona Hwy 89A to Jacob's Pool at sunset. 4WD route passes great corral near base of cliffs.

Utah Hwy 89A to Kanab, UT BLM office before 7:30AM. Seeking Permit to North Coyote Buttes & success!
  Hwy 89A to House Rock Valley Rd to BLM 1017 Checking out condition of two tracks to White Pocket.
Various unmarked deep sand two track roads This route thru deep snow to White Pockets. (made it)
Back out on two tracks to House Rock Valley Rd This route back to Hwy 89A in dark to Cliff Dwellers.

Hwy 133 to McClure Pass to Hwy 90/50 & Delta, CO This route to Montrose/Ridgeway, CO on Hwy 550.

Returned Hwy 9 to Hwy 89 thru Kanab to Paria River. This route to Toadstools area near Paria River.
Arizona Hwy 89 to House Rock Valley Road to 89A. This route to Paria Plateau area & Cliff Dwellers Lodge.

October 8, Colorado I-70  to I-25 to Speers Ave to REI in Denver Stopped to take a break & get lunch. 
2006 I-70 to East Vail exit Stopped to check out very good fall color in Vail area.

I-25 to Hwy 161 to Ft Union National Monument Visited this surprisingly impressive ruin.
Colorado I-25 to Denver to Lincoln St exit to Art Museum Picked up tickets to art museum addition grand opening
Tickets for 1:30AM slot to enter new addition. Late dinner and hanging around plaza till our time slot.
1:30 AM to 3:30 AM in new addition. Daniel Libeskind  - Architect for new addition.

March 15, Missouri Lambert International Airport,  St. Louis, MO. Wednesday after work start from Lambert.
2006 thru Arizona Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, AZ. 3 1/2 hour flight to Phoenix from St. Louis.
March 19, Rental Car Shuttle to Rental Car Complex Picked up mid-size rental car.
2006 I-17 northbound to Phoenix suburbs. Motel (1) night.
I-17 northbound to Sedona exit Hwy 179. Early start to Grand Canyon N. P. w/Sedona side trip.
Photo Trip Hwy 179 to Hwy 89 to Oak Creek Canyon. This route to Sedona and on to Flagstaff, AZ
(Long Hwy 89 northbound to Cameron, AZ This route to Cameron, AZ.
weekend) Walked to old Little Colorado River Bridge. Checked out sister bridge to Dewey Bridge in Moab.
Hwy 89 south to Hwy 64 to Grand Canyon N.P. Route to east entrance south rim Grand Canyon N.P.
Grand Stopped at Moran Point & Grandview Point No light or clouds and Grandview Trail very icy.
Canyon Hwy 64 (Desert View Drive) to Hwy 180 Route to Tusayan, AZ to check into Motel (3) nights.
Photo Hwy 180 to Hwy 64 to Yavapai Point. Continued on east to Lipan Point at sunset.
Trip Back to Tusayan, AZ Pizza to go and back to Motel.
Up early to Hwy 180 to Hwy 64 to Lipan Point. This route back to Lipan Point at sunrise - 25 miles.
Back to Grand Canyon Market Plaza Bought instep crampons & breakfast at General Store.
Market Plaza to Mather Point parking area. This route to new Visitor Center Complex.
Visitor Center shuttle to South Kaibab Trailhead. This is now the only way to access S. Kaibab Trailhead.
Put instep crampons on and proceeded down trail. Crampons helped - waited for mules on switchbacks.
Continued on trail to "Oh My God Point". Took a break & some photos at this point & returned.
Back to Visitors Center & Mather Point parking area. On to overlook of Little CO River Gorge - 40 miles.
Back into G.C.N.P. and on to Navajo Point. At Navajo Point for sunset.
Returned to G.C. Market Village. Dinner at Yavapai Cafeteria.
Vistors Center shuttle for sunrise at Yaki Point. This is the only access to Yaki Point. (or walk in)
Back to Visitor Center & to Grand Canyon Village. Breakfast at Bright Angel Lodge Restaurant.
To Hermit Road shuttle and Maricopa Point. Paid respects at Powell Point & walked to Hopi Point.
Stopped at all Points and finally Hermits Rest.  (8 miles) Mohave Point,The Abyss, and Pima Points.
Back to G.C. Village & a break at Maswik Cafeteria. On to "Duck-on a Rock" & Grandview Point.
On to Lipan Point, Navajo Point & Desert View. Back to Yavapai Point at Sunset.
Back to G.C. Village and Maswik Cafeteria. Dinner here and back to motel in Tusayan. (totally shot)
Too tired to get up at sunrise. (overcast - no light) Breakfast at adjacent Restaurant in Tusayan.
Back to Yavapai Point & then on to Moran Point. Stopped here on way out of G.C.N.P.
Desert View Road (Hwy 64) to Hwy 89  to Hwy 395 This route to the Wupatki-Sunset Crater loop Road.
Hwy 395 (loop road) to Hwy 89 to Old Rte 66. This route thru Flagstaff, AZ to I-17 south.
Arizona I-17 Flagstaff to Phoenix, AZ  (147 miles) Flagstaff (7001') Sky Harbor (1100") = 5900' drop
Missouri Sky Harbor to Lambert International Airport. 3 1/2" hour flight non-stop (26 hr drive from St. Louis)

February 3, Missouri I-270/ I-40/ I-70  St Louis area westbound to Kansas. Friday after work start from Metro St. Louis, MO.
2006 Kansas I-70 thru Kansas City metro to Colby, KS nonstop. Took 21/2 hr.  break at a large travel center & cont.
Colorado I-70  westbound to rest area east of  Denver. Stopped to take a 2 1/2 hour sleep break & cont. 
Road Trip I-70 to Idaho Springs, CO just west of Denver. I-70 slowed by accident  -  stopped for breakfast.
(1 week) Utah I-70 thru Colorado to Hwy 128 in Utah.  (20 hours) Stopped at the Dewey Bridge over Colorado River.
Drove backroads around Little Pinto Mesa. Found "Top of the World" bike trail.
Colorado Hwy 128 to Hwy191 to Moab. This route to Moab (2 nights - motel)
Plateau Hwy 191 to Hwy 313 to Dead Horse State Park This route to Dead Horse State Park at sunrise.

Trip Hiked to extreme southern tip at Grandview Point This trail to the end of the Island in the Sky mesa.
Moab's Mill Creek Drive to Sand Flats Road . This route to Slick Rock Bike Tr. & Sand Flats R.A.
Hwy 191 to Hwy 297 to Poison Spider Mesa Rd. This route to switchbacks on Poison Spider Mesa Rd.
Hiked thru drainage & onto slickrock fins. Bushwhacked to great views of Behind the Rocks at sunset.
Hwy 191 to Arches N.P. This route to North Window at sunrise.
Hwy 191 to I-70 to Hwy 24 This route the Hankville, UT area.
Temple Mountain Road to CR 1019 This route to Lucky Strike Mine in San Rafael Swell
CR 1019 To Temple Mtn. Rd to Goblin Valley Road. This route back to Goblin Valley State Park at sunset.
Goblin Valley Road to Temple Mtn. Rd to Hwy 24. This route to Hanksville. (1 night - motel)
Hwy 24 to cap rock formations north of Hanksville. Climbed cap rock to views south to Henry's at sunrise.
Hwy 24 to Hwy 12 to Hell's Backbone Rd. This route to HC 2WD road to McGath point.
Back to Hwy 12 & tried to find Upper Calf Crk Falls. Hiked steeply down - rimmed out above head of falls.
Climbed 500 ft to Hwy 12 & on to Escalante, UT. Took a break & had a great meal in Escalante, UT.
Hwy 12 to Cottonwood Canyon Rd to Hwy 89. This route to Page, AZ. (1 night - motel).
Hwy 89 to Whitehouse trailhead on Paria River Climbed around in rocks - a good corral here
Found Long Valley Rd to Clark Bench . This route till it ended on a bench above Paria River.
Arizona Hwy 89 to Page to Cameron to Hwy 64 This route to Grand Canyon N.P. (1 night - lodge)
Drove Hermits Rest Road to Hopi Point. This route to Hopi Point at sunset.
Up early to Mather Point at sunrise. Also at Yavapai and Yaki Point in early light.
Spent a couple hours along the rim in G.C. Village. To Kolbe & Lookout Studio, Hopi House, El Tovar.
Colorado Hwy 64 to Hwy 89 to Hwy 160. This route to Cortez, CO. (1 night - motel)
Hwy 145 to Dolores to Telluride. This route and a good late breakfast in Telluride.
Hwy 145 to Hwy 62 to Hwy 550 to Delta. This route to Grand Mesa Scenic Byway.
Grand Mesa Scenic Byway to I-70. This route  to Denver (1 night - motel)
I-70 to eastern Colorado Exploring abandoned farmsteads.

August 12, Missouri I-270/ I-40/ I-70  St Louis area westbound. Friday after work start from Metro St. Louis, MO.
2005 Kansas Stopped briefly in Boonville, MO. Found the currently controversial Boonville Bridge.
I-70 thru Kansas City & Topeka, KS Heavy rain caused this leg to take (5 1/2) hours.

Plateau I-70 westbound to Idaho Springs exit. Stuck in traffic (3 1/2) hrs due to rock slide.

Trip Hwy 9 to Breckenridge and on to Frisco. Late dinner in Breckenridge - Motel (1) night Frisco.
I-70 to Glenwood Springs to Hwy 82 to Hwy 133. This route to Carbondale, Redstone & Marble, CO
Hwy 133 to CR 3 to Bogan Flats Campground. Camped (1) night next to the Crystal River.
Continued on CR 3 to Crystal Mill in overcast sky. East of Marble CR3 is 4WD High Clearance only.
CR 3 to Hwy 133 to CR12 to Crested Butte. This route over Kebler Pass to Crested Butte, CO.
Crested Butte to CR 317 to Mt. Crested Butte. This route to off season ski lodge (1) night.
CR 317 to Gothic to Rustler Gulch to 4WD road. This route to very high till blocked at a trailhead.
CR 317 to CR 12 to Hwy 133 to CR 3 This route back to Marble, CO.
Waited an hour in overcast sky on top of Daniel Hill. Took Lost Trail Road toward Lead King Basin.
Lost Trail Road eastbound switchbacks up to very high. This road leads to a mountain side full of wildflowers.
Spur road from Lead King Basin to Crystal, CO. This so-called road is extremely rough in sections.
CR 3 / CR 317 meet at spur road to Lead King Basin. The road from this point to Marble only slightly better.
CR 3 westbound from Crystal to Crystal Mill. After hour of waiting finally got some light on the mill.
CR 3 to Marble to Hwy 133 to Redstone, CO. Motel (1) night in Redstone.
Hwy 133 over McClure Pass to Hwy 92. This route to Crawford, CO.
Hwy 92 to Black Canyon Rd. to North Rim Road. This route to Black Cyn. of the Gunnison Nat. Park.
Hiked Chasm View loop & drove all of N. Rim Rd. Stopped at several overlooks - This is a deep canyon.
Black Canyon Rd to eastbound 92. This route to Hwy 50 - This is an impressive drive.
Hwy 50 westbound to Montrose to Hwy 550 south. This route to Ouray, CO  hotel (2) nights.
CR 8 to Owl Creek Pass. This route to Cimarron Ridge area.
Hwy 550 to CR 361 to CR26 to local road. This route to Blue Lakes Trailhead -Yankee Boy Basin
Hiked to Blue Lakes Pass below Mt Sneffells. Hiked this trail to scout Mt Sneffells climb.
Hwy 550 to CR 361 to CR26 to local road. This route to climb Mt. Sneffells.
Climbed Mt Sneffells and Kismet Peak. Unfortunately grey sky prevented good photo opps.

& 24, 2005 Hike on trail downhill past gate to N.A. boundary This route instead of trail heading uphill from parking.
Day Trips Bushwhacking near trail looking for mushrooms. May Apples,  yellow & white wildflowers everywhere
Followed trail to north boundary & railroad tracks In and out of the main and secondary drainages.
(4 separate Climbed steeply to top of west side bluff. Bluffs occur on east and west side of main drainage.
trips ) Found a brick foundation and nice sandstone fireplace. Looks like the ruins of decent home.
Walked out to edge of bluffs. An about 200' foot drop to RR. tracks.
Morrell Followed bluffs briefly west. Good views over flats & to Labadie power plant.
Hunting Tracked what must have been a road. Walked this road till boundary of Natural Area.
Hiked back to parking area on south boundary of  N.A. A mile and half walk from north boundary of N.A.
Drove to St. Albans, MO Took a break at Head's Grocery Store.
Drove short distance to St. Albans Dairy Barn. Explored barn after clearing with St. Albans police.

June 4, Missouri I-70 east to Ohio Left St. Louis area at 5:00 PM. CST
2004 Illinois, Indiana Staying with Family for weekend in Central Ohio. Arrived at 1:00 AM EST
Ohio Next day attending graduation and visiting family. Sisters son graduated from High School.
Weekend Trip State Hwy 4 to Sandusky, Ohio Drove by Warren G. Harding's tomb in Marion, OH
  Arrived Cedar Point 12:30 PM Great location two miles out on a point in Lake Erie.
Graduation & Immediately rode the "Power Tower" 240' drop - literally off your seat on way down
Trip to In line to check out :"Top Thrill Dragster" Mechanical problem closed ride so we moved on.
Cedar Point On to "Magnum XL-200"- 1st steel coaster over 200'. Brief rain delay - and then a great ride in first car.
Next "Millennium Force"- 1st steel coaster over 300' In last car and the first drop is massive.
On to the "Mantis" - a stand-up steel coaster. Good ride but will whip your head in the tight loops.
Finally back to "Top Thrill Dragster" Waited an hour plus thru 3 mechanical shut downs.
     "TTD" accelerates to 125 mph in 4 seconds. Climbs to 420' in 4 more seconds or less.
     Drops 420' straight down w/ a 270 twist in 4 sec. Rockets back to the start in 4 seconds. 
     This ride is a religious experience. "TTD" is a serious kind of next generation ride.
On "Raptor" - the best inverted coaster out there Always a great ride.
On "Wicked Twister" - an inverted air powered coaster Very fast - a definitely fine addition to Cedar Point.

2004 Arkansas I-55 south of Cape Girardeau, MO to I-40 east. Ground plane is dead flat all the way to Memphis.
Tennessee I-40 Mississippi River bridge into downtown Memphis. Crossed the bridge at 5:15 PM.
Weekend Trip I-240 south and then east to southeastern suburbs Arrived at daughter and family's home at 6:00 PM.
To Corky's BBQ Great BBQ dinner at original restaurant.
Memphis in To downtown and the Peabody Hotel Checked out the lobby and on the roof to see ducks.
May Trip To Beale Street and all the clubs Landed for a couple hours in the Blues City Cafe.
Next day touring all around Memphis area. To Brooks Memphis Art Gallery for an hour plus.
To northern Mississippi to visit in-laws. Drove through Faulkner, MS.
Back to Memphis and downtown to BBQ Festival Next to Mississippi River and a huge event.
Next day visit Collierville, TN  and tour area. Check out the town square and old train.
Back to St. Louis via Hwy 51 north through TN. Gently rolling countryside north of Covington, TN
Crossed Mississippi River on I-155 Only two other bridges all the way to St. Louis.
Stopped in New Madrid, MO. Checked out location of Hunter-Dawkins House.
Stopped in Sikeston, MO. Wanted to stop at Lammert's but wait was too long.

March 21, Missouri Left at 10 AM plus
2004 I-270 to Hwy 21  (Tesson Ferry Road) This route south to St. Francois Mountains region.
Stopped in Caledonia, MO for late breakfast Breakfast at the Chocolate Garage Bakery.
Day Trip Hwy E to CR 511 to two track left just past dry bridge Parked at gate on this forest access two track
Started hike at 12:45 PM Hike up to & over a saddle about 1 mile to creek.
Explore Odd little moss covered cascade at junction w/ creek. Hiking upstream on left side of creek.
Lower First about 1/2 mile is a generally flat granite slab. A shallow streambed carved out of the granite.
Rock Sharp left turn in creek & it gets moderately rough. Trail in steep talus slope of granite rocks & boulders.
Creek Another 1/2m  upstream &arrive Dark Hollow. 40' shear granite cliffs covered by dark green moss.
Boulder hopped thru creek for 100 yards plus or minus. Creek is full of boulders and curves gently right.
Huge boulders in the area of Dark Hollow. An obvious campground on first bench this area.
Upstream from Dark Hollow and it gets rough No easy route upstream thru massive boulders.
Climbed up steeply to find a skirting trail around rocks. No trail found but we decided to climb higher.
Stopped for a break on top of a 50' high rock band. Spotted huge buzzard preening it's feathers above us.
Back down to Dark Hollow area. This slope is much steeper than it looks.
Took another break and it was already 3:45 PM. Decided to head back to St. Louis.
We only made it through a little over half of this gorge. Could see steeper cliffs farther upstream.
Back to Hwy E to Hwy 21 to Arcadia and Andy's. Andy's for a good burger, fries and shake.
Returned to St. Louis via Hwy 21. Back around 8:00 PM.

Hwy 21 is now four lanes to near Sandy Creek Bridge Sandy Creek Bridge is a wooden covered bridge.
Day Trip Huge amount of blow down near Washington S. P. The area is on the edge of typical weather patterns.
Explored an abandoned Stockyard near Potosi, MO This was very good w/ an intact covered sale ring
Explore Caledonia, MO is always impressive for a tiny town. 6 classic Federal Style homes on main street.
Crane Lake Hwy E to Warren Hill Rd to Crane Lake Rd Found Crane Lake  (very good 750 acre lake)
& Scout West end boat ramp and closed access road to dam. Parked here.  (electric motors only on the lake)
Lower Rock Hiked south side trail  (an abandoned road) to dam. Approximately 1 1/4 mile hike to the dam.
Creek Very impressive 1/4 mile granite shut-ins below dam Boulder hoped along Crane Pond Creek shut-ins.
Climbed thru pink/gray rock band to north side of lake. Found Ozark Trail above shut-ins.
Hiked back to parking area on north side of lake. A foot trail thru oak/hickory forest along lake.
Back to Hwy E east past Marble Creek Campground. Campground closed - found Ozark Trail trailhead.
Hwy E to CR 511 to two track just past dry bridge Found parking area in Mark Twain National Forest.
Hwy E to CR 415 to Hwy O to CR 406. To parking area at Rock Pile Mountain Wilderness.
Back to Hwy E to CR 507 to CR 505 to Hwy D east Crossed Little St. Francois River at Whitener Ford.
Hwy D to Hwy 72 to Arcadia and Andy's Restaurant. Andy's still makes real mike shakes.
Returned to St. Louis via Hwy 21 Back around 8:00 PM.

Hwy 605 to County Road 23. Side road past some interesting sandstone hoodoos.

FSR 420 (Shultz Pass Road) to FSR 553. Drove this side road until stuck in snow.
FSR 420 to FSR 146. This Forest Service Road to closed gate.
FSR 420 to Hwy 180 to Flagstaff. This route back to downtown and south of 1-40.
FH 3 (Lake Mary Road) to FSR 128. This road to Marshal Lake.
Back to Flagstaff and west to FSR 231. This route toward Sycamore Canyon.
FSR 231 to FSR 538. This road to Turkey Butte and Turkey Tank.
FSR 538 to Spur Rd. to Winter Cabin Trail Drove to this trailhead on a very wet/rutted road.
Back to Flagstaff and on to FSR 418. This route around north side of San Francisco Peaks.
FSR 418 to FSR 151. Stopped on 151 to shoot sunset & Mt Humphery's
FSR 151 to Hwy 180 to Flagstaff. Drove FSR 151 past Arizona Snow Bowl.
Hwy 89 to Hwy 64 to Moran Point. Moran Point in Grand Canyon N.P. for sunrise.
Hwy 89 to Page, AZ. Stopped to explore Waterholes Canyon near Page.
Utah Hwy 89 to Cottonwood Canyon Road. This backcountry byway to Hwy 24.

Hwy 550 to Placitas, NM. and FSR 165. Hwy 550 is a very good road and a scenic drive.
FSR 165 to the Sandia Crest Scenic Byway. Back here to try and get a sunset shot.
Back via Hwy 14 to I-40 and eastbound. Driving at night to Tucumcari.
Texas Blue Swallow Motel. Stayed in this historic Route 66 motel one night.
Oklahoma I-40 to I-44. All day drive back to St. Louis, Mo (13.5 hours)
